2008 CERC Seaside Sessions

Apr. 8, 2008

This years CERC Event will be in Nova Scotia, September 11th - 14th, 2008.  The Canadian EHS Research Consortium has hosted three previous events that were principally clinically focused with representatives from the many stakeholder groups within Canadian paramedic community. These events (Ingonish, Oshawa, and Vernon) proved to be successful in building new relationships and generating interest in the development of Research especially at the practitioner, college and medical director levels.

In 2006, CERC completed a comprehensive action research project that explored what were the obstacles of utilizing research in Canadian Paramedic Services. CERC's research concluded that there was a significant gap in what research means to the system and how research relates to decision making at an organizational level. To fill in this gap, the 2008 Seaside Sessions will focus on using research as an effective business tool to inform decisions making and change management strategies.

CERC is excited to have secured three respected EMS researchers to facilitate the 2008 Seaside Sessions. Lawrence Brown, Brooke Lerner and Jane Brice will share their expertise and wisdom and to facilitate the two-day seminar in which the participants will develop strategies to enhance their own research capacity in the context of their own organization.
