Benevolent Society

"Since 1988, more than 26 paramedics from across Canada have lost their lives in the line of duty. The role of paramedics in providing health care in the uncontrolled environment that is their workplace sometimes puts them in harm’s way. While no paramedic shies away from the possible dangers, sadly, they do sometimes suffer the consequences.
It is unknown, prior to 1988, how many other Canadian EMS providers made the ultimate sacrifice but have not been documented or honored."
